What you are seeing are not American Species of lady bugs, they are an invasive species, brought from asia, called Asian Lady Beetles{Harmonia axyridis} and they have no natural predators in North America or the other places on the globe where they’ve been intentionally & accidently imported, so they multiply in unnatural numbers then swarm in mass when the temps reach around 50° F.

Though most in the midwest are orange in color, you see on the website provided there are actually several color variants of this species.

Origin of Invasion:
In the U.S. They were intentionally released by the USDA, because they are more aggressive at destroying aphids and like most attempts at playing god, it’s gone terribly wrong. They are more aggressive, then native species, so they are desimating native populations, not to mention they damage fruit and grapes, something the Department of Agriculture didn’t think of.

Health Problems:
They can cause breathing problems, because they secrete a chemical called ‘isopropyl methoxy pyrazine’ it is a respiratory irritant causing rhinoconjunctivitis(runny nose and nasal tissue inflamation) and for people with Asthma and lung disorders, they can be a cause for serious health problems. The problem is shear numbers, it causes a consentration of these chemicals. It can also stain clothing and valuables not to mention cause an undesirable smell.

They bite too.

Controls are being considered like releasing their asian predators and viruses that effect hopefully only them(God Play partII), but for now we will just have to deal with them.

Also they look like little crabs. Larvae and adult forms eat aphids. Pupa stage looks like a orange half bent shell. That all the short info. They are a science project gone awry…..they were introduced by Penn State agriculture to erradicate some other pest, and have swarmed out of control. They are some weird beetle variety, but are easy to kill. Any commercial bug spray will kill them, if you have a major swarming, you can purchase a “bug bomb” it is a fogger type bug killer. You have to close up the house, and let it work….then just vacuum up the little buggers. They will make your vacuum stink, you will have to change bags.

The only way to get rid of them, is to vacuum with a clean bag.. And they stink if you crush one. You can get the smell in your vacuum. If you do this, you will have to put a bag over the vacuum bag and catch them and carry them out side.

I got a beautiful streamline bouquet of like three roses covering my inner ankle bone down into the arch of my foot just a little ..Its sexy pretty.

But i paid the price with my Pain..looks great in strappy stilettos too..haha!

My foot kept jumping on its own when he came around the tendon area towards the back of my ankle bone.

Out of the spots you listed, I like the top of the foot the best. I have one on my foot and I love how it looks with flip flops, heels, or any other shoes that bare the top of my foot. My tat is actually on the arch of my foot but it winds around to the top of my foot as well. You might consider getting your little lady bug on the top near your pinkie toe, I think that would be adorable!

While I do not agree with the small minded person calling a tattoo trashy, I will say you may want to wait another year to get the tattoo. Tastes change so much especially when you are young and you do not want to regret it. Does the ladybug hold meaning? Any tattoo artist will tell you a tattoo should mean something to you. If you do get a tattoo you need to remember that you will need to get a job and like it or not people will judge you especially if it is very visible. Think about it, give it some more time. I think Tattoos are great but they are forever
