Your Questions About Rain Shoes Summer

Ken asks…

Dress / Work shoes for NYC Winter?

I am relocating from Phoenix, AZ to New York this summer. It’s a little pre-mature, but I am wondering since it will be my first “real winter”. What shoes do you wear in the city on your way to work in the snow/ sleet/ or rain?

I am a 28 rear old guy who will be working the financial district and I dress business casual (dress pants & button up shirt). I can’t imagine trudging along the city streets in good dress shoes in the snow or rain? Do people change shoes when they get to the office? If so, what do you wear on your way in-sneakers? I am never had to deal with this before until now? Please help thanks!

Ladybugs answers:

Dress as conservatively as possible and you’ll make the best impression.

Don’t dream of wearing sneakers to work or changing your shoes. You are in the most competitive city, competitive field, invest in your wardrobe.

Have 2 pairs of shoes, one that you only wear on rainy days. Get some mink oil to conserve the rainy day shoes. And get a good raincoat.

Do some research, look at the Brooks Brothers catalog. Go to a store like Nordstrom’s or Saks and ask the salespeople to help you (tell them what line of work you will be in). You don’t have to buy from them either, but get specifics about styles, fabrics and even colors. Try to get things that don’t require drycleaning or ironing but are still as conservative looking as possible. This may mean you spend extra, but the time saved in the morning and money saved from no drycleaning will be worth it.

Laura asks…

What kind of shoes should I get?

I’m starting my junior year in High School in a week and I have no shoes!! I live in flip flops over the summer, but I can’t wear them to school. My style is trendy but laid back. Some days I feel like wearing heels and super chic jeans, other days I feel like wearing jeans and an old tee shirt.
I’m girly but I find that I’m drawn to more tom boyish shoes. I want a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors, but my mom says they aren’t practical and won’t go with everything. She says canvas shoes aren’t good in rain. But I like canvas flats like that. Like Keds or along those lines.
I don’t know what kind of shoes to get. Please help me and direct me to stores to look at!!!!!!!

Ladybugs answers:

Converses usually go with everything (if you get a neutral and solid color).
I think you should get one pair of Converses and a pair of flats.
Try some shoes at Wet Seal. They have a great variety!

Thomas asks…

How to dress for the Great British summer?

I live in Scotland, and it appears to be a little more wet here than anywhere else at the moment! Maybe that’s just my imagination…
However, summer weather seems to have ended even though supposedly it IS still summer! When it was sunny I bought summer skirts, flowery dresses, playsuits and sandals. I want to know if anyone has any tips for ‘warming up’ those outfits through the rain? Any cute jackets or shoes I should be looking out for? It’s definitely NOT time to be dressing for winter already so I want to look summery, but not get drenched in the weather!
Help!

Ladybugs answers:

Hi there they are pretty true for size. You might squeeze into a size too small but there will be no room for thick socks and it might be a squeeze.

Thomas asks…

Why do all men coddle all women and why do all women abuse all men?

http://www.frederica.com/writings/men-protecting-women.html

Showing how even the lives of teenage boys are valued less. I have never seen a woman die for a man the way that reporter did.

“I don’t believe a man should ever yell at a woman

Nor have I ever seen a woman do the protective things men do for wives, and even friends such as giving up seats(and standing uncomfortably on buses for hours), getting the car in the rain, giving up jackets, carrying heavy objects, walking home, driving her home, calling a cab to take her home safely, carrying her when she falls down , calling to make sure she got home safely, holding doors, paying, walking street side and positioning himself in between her and any vicious dog or threat.

http://www.yourpurelife.com/articles/mother_son.php

Apparently women should DEMAND respect from men. Mothers should be dominating figures in their son’s lives.

“Joyce Hamilton Berry, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist in the Washington, D.C.-area, says the best way for a mother to teach her son to respect women is by demanding respect herself. “Demand that he carry packages and groceries, that he open doors for you and other women,” says Dr. Berry. “Teach him to speak to women with respect and not call them names… If a man loves, respects and reveres his mother, then most likely he will treat his woman the same way. If it’s a healthy relationship with his mother, that’s good. How much is too much depends on how the mother parents.”"

Even when a son gets older he will be expected to check ncted to check on the noise and risk his life for his motherwhile the same doesn’t apply to father daufhdoes not apply to fathers and daughters not to mention daughters get more money spend, more money left to them, get more love, have less responsibility, are allowed to live at home, receive no punishment for hitting brothers, are not expected to take care of parents and recieve more comfort and leeway when it comes to anything.

I can bet she is not going to tell dads to encourage daughters to cook, take care of him and take care of sick family members and clean.

quotes such as this show how lazy women are

“I know for a fact that if anything gross, disgusting or dirty has to be done, my husband, no questions asked, is going to do it. There’s never an argument over who’s going to go outside and shovel the driveway or who’s going to change the oil, or the tire. I can guarantee if anybody ever needed to kill anything or venture into a potentially spider infested crawl space, it wouldn’t be me. Not because I’d refuse….I’d never have to. If there’s anything repugnant to be done, my husband does it. I have at times volunteered, because I know he’d never ask me to, but he says no. Not because he want to do it, but because he takes care of and protects his wife and children, self-sacrificing in the way that man have done for ages.’”

from dumpyourwifenow.com

Even in relationships a man gives more massages, gives up his jacket, gets the car when its raining, gives up shoes if hers breaks, gives up food, gives up the safer car, gives up the health insurance, checks on the noise downstairs, drive in unsafe conditions, gives up his umbrella, gives up his seat, has security systems installed for her, walks her home, drives her home, calls her a cab, gives more in general, calls to make sure she got home safe, comes over in the middle of night to take care of her, does more to cheer her up, carries her heavy packages, picks her up form the bus station at night, saves her and her car from a ditch, makes her feel safe, carries her when she falls down. He is more likely to step in between her and vicious dog or take a bullet for her than vice versa. He gets a vasectomy so she can avoid a tubal( vasectomies are safer the tubals but a vasectomy carries the risk of YEARS of discomfort and pain(what type of woman would let a man risk that)-one guy said even if it was more unsafe he would still take the pain for his wife-no woman thinks like that).

Forget about how he is emotionally stronger, her emotional protector and her rock. Women are more work to deal with and men give more compassion, comfort , care and strength. Men are the nurturers not women.

Lets not even go into financial support.

Women whine more when sick and have more sexual partners and have less sympathy for their man when he is sick.’

I doubt a woman has even put a blanket or towel over her man. Women don’t share any food(chocolate, wine, steak whatever),give less than they get

“Men have it harder.

I have more respect for men, since men are the ones that have to do the asking out, whether he’s shy or not. Men are the ones that have to deal with rejection. Women are the ones that get all the privileges and everything cater to them. Women get laid easily while men have to work for it. It’s not a gender-related reason why I have more respect for men — I have more respect for people that have to work harder f
for something, regardless of gender. And women get handouts and a pass in life in many areas that men do not.

And what emmarge said — men have made greater contributions to society throughout history, than women. Men are responsible for virtually all of the great inventions.”

Women CAN NOT handle being men. Even this woman admits it is harder to be a man.

“Vincent laments the toll the collective pressures – to be strong, to be stoic, to win – take on the masculine psyche. Indeed at the end of the book she reveals how much the effort involved in maintaining the “Ned” disguise has worn her down. In her case, of course, the assumed persona is more at odds with her authentic self than the front put on by a typical straight biological male.
. Vincent emerges from her exhausting impersonation with greater compassion towards males and a palpable sense of relief at not having to bear their considerable burdens in her everyday life.”

One thing in which I delighted was the sense of sympathy for men. She does so in a non-condescending, observant manner which endeared Vincent to the reader. She writes in awe and pity of the difficulty men face living up to society’s high expectations. I too consider myself a feminist but this book revised my way of thinking. Previously, I looked at my male coworkers’ mobility in the workforce with such envy and admittedly, begrudgment. Coupled with their impression of career equalling self worth, however, I wouldn’t trade my gender for the world. Nora Vincent’s frustration of picking up women in bars also proved thought-proviking. While men grow accustomed to rejection and being sized up in a two-second glance by the other gender, I can’t think of too many women (if any) who wouldn’t go home
(if any) who wouldn’t go home in tears at similar treatment. If every man treated me similar to how I treated a man in a bar, I would be crushed. Haven’t all women been guilty of the sly eye-roll at the less-than-attractive man who merely wants to buy us a drink?”

“Men she points out have to take more risks of rejection than women can fathom.”

If a man was slapped by a woman in public no woman would attack his abuser or call the cops. This man stepped in to save a woman who was slapped by her bf on the train. I bet no woman would called the cops or step in if a woman did that. When a woman embarrasses a man in public in any way everybody cheers. The vice versa never occurs.

There is a gap between males and females. As someone else on this site phrased it-there is a compassion gap. Men protect women, women abuse men.

Women can slap men, throw drinks, use men for free drinks and call them names. I have NEVER seen this pig headed behavior in men.
“If i ever make the mistake of unjustly slapping a man, I would expect him to regain his respect by kissing me long and hard instead. Men lose more respect when they see and treat the girl as just another animal.”

DISGUSTING. She hits him and wants affection in return and says men are just animals.
Even in a “good” marriage if the wife slapped himonce and most likely has she was forgiven vice versa does not apply.

Women are allowed to have male friend, go out dancing with men when married. They have more sexual partners, are forgiven for drunken infidelity and infidelity in general more often than men. They flirt more and are more likely to have done done stuff like threesomes in the past.

Women only abuse men. ““Chivalry is the notion that a man has the duty to respect and serve women.” ”

http://www.cassyfiano.com/2008/12/unsurprising-men-blame-death-of-chivalry-on-radical-feminism

Chivalry is just a means of putting women first. Its opressive to men.I have never seen a woman put a man first, be more emotionally protective, be equally protective of his safety and be more loving , giving, caring.

“They want to be loved and cherished, treated as the weaker vessel, put on a pedastal of putting them first.”

She has punched me, kicked me, slapped me, scratched me, pushed me and thrown drinks at me,” says Mike in a bulletin board posting that links from the SAFE site. “I could easily make her the first German satellite, launching her into orbit! I know a few hand and wrist holds that I can usually apply to stop her long enough to run. The thought of hurting a woman makes me sick.”
One night, his wife pulled a knife on him. Mike called the police and his wife was arrested. But he remains married to her, in part for the sake of his infant son.

“She thinks nothing of arguing, yelling and swearing with the baby in her arms. I point out that she shouldn’t do this, but it only makes it worse. I now move through the house in a state of red alert. I sleep in another room with the doors locked.”

“”Many of the things were smashed. He stood the cabinet back up, picked up the TV and went into the kitchen to eat something. Then the phone rang. It was Diane.” Diane told John she was leaving him, taking his son and making sure that John “would never hunt or fish with [the boy] or be a part of his life. ‘I will teach him to hate you,’ she told John.” Corry continues: “The only glue that had been allowing John to continue trying to find a solution was his son. When Diane took that away from him … John lost it.”
Since the TV remote was in his hand, he threw it through the TV. He knocked over a china cabinet and a curio cabinet, “threw a couple things and then collapsed in the middle of the living room and cried.”

The collapse, Corry relates, allowed John to tap into an inner source of strength and “to never allow another person to take so much from him.”

“By publishing this, he hopes other men can learn and escape such horror.”

In the meantime, John says, Diane had called the police. She told them John had gone on a rampage, smashing things in the house. She said he had guns and she feared he would commit suicide. Police surrounded the house. John refused to leave the house unless Diane would come and explain what had happened.

When she arrived and he left the house, he was “immediately swarmed over by a SWAT team, knocked to the ground, kicked and dragged across the parking lot handcuffed.”
He spent the next three days in jail. Diane took out a restraining order. He did not see his son for more than six weeks, and then only saw the boy during supervised visits. Corry writes: “Foolishly, John pled guilty to a charge of criminal mischief and was given a deferred sentence. And finally he had sense enough to get out of the relationship. … Diane filed for divorce.”"

“”When I called a rape hotline, I was laughed at! I feel so worthless and feeble, but mostly humiliated. Yet, I can’t bring myself to try to get out of the relationship for fear of retaliation. My wife claims that, if I try to leave her, she’ll cut me till my blood won’t stop flowing and watch me die.”
One woman, Joannie, posts a story explaining how she became abusive in one instance: “I don’t know what happened. I suppose it all went by too fast. One moment, I was on the verge of leaving and the next, I had lurched my arm back to slug him one in the face, causing massive bleeding at the jaw, then in the chest multiple times. I didn’t stop throwing punches–and even kicked him once–until he fell back against the bed, eyes gone wide … the shock, hurt, then almost disgust, that crossed his face jarred me to the very core.”

In a response to Joannie’s post, another woman attempts to reassure the worried spouse: “You did the right thing, taught him who’s boss. Works with my husband at least. Right on, sister! Don’t feel guilty, feel proud!” ”
Women DISGUST me. They are violent than men. I have never seen a woman be equally or more protective of her husband. Abusive yes.

And no matter how good a woman appears to be she will hurt him when the relationship ends and is always more abusive than her mate.

A woma hits a man he is laughed at, told to take it like a man and suck it up and nothing is done against the woman. man hits woman she is comforted, other men beat him up and the police is called. When will men be comforted after being hit, when will women attack female abusers and when will women call the cops on these female abusers?

Are things better in other countries?
I mean here women even hate to give affection and put his sexual pleasure first, I have never seen a woman who gave more, did her fair share of romance, dates, gift giving(engagment gifts in particular)

Women are forgiven for infedility. in many relationships the woman knows she will be forgiven but would not
forgive him if he cheated. women are forgiven multiple times. if a woman forgives him she usually slaps him first
and controls him after and will constantly bring up his mistake in arguments. a man doesn’t slap a woman who
cheated on him nor does he control her and bring up her mistake in arguments.
I have never seen a relationship where the man was more coddled, protected, loved, held, taken care of,romanced, spoiled, nurtured, came first.

I have never seen a relationship where the woman is less work than the man to deal with, where the man is the weaker one
where the woman is his emotional protector.

honestly women can’t love men. just each other.
“cause its nasty. why would they feel attracted to a guy? guys are not pieces of art, women are. so us women don’t understand, even most men don’t understand these bi or gay men. its disgusting. guys have plain bodies nothing to look at, just that weird looking thing.

if my boyfriend liked men i would thing he has low standards, he would be with anybody if he goes with men. i wouldn’t be with a guy with low standards.

i am sorry for being brutally honest, but thats the truth.”
“I don’t believe a man should ever yell at a woman:

Yea but women can yell right?

Donald asks…

Is it Time, Do Women get a Turn at MANY HUSBANDS?, If Biblical Men deserved many wives?, I want 7 Husbands?

Why not?
It is perfectly normal in some countries on this planet and religion supports it so why can’t the women have several husbands?
Times have changed?
So…men still get their many wives…it is common for them to have at least 2!
why is it wrong for me to have 7 husbands?
I need one for everyday of the week because they find it too hard to do the job all by themselves…they might like it?…what if they all want to do it?…Is it against gods law and why?…Why is it okay for a man but not a woman?…We need more help?…We have more needs, we need more sex than one can usually provide and we need more company than one is willing to give and we have more clothes than one can carry for us…?
One husband can mow the lawn as the other one makes me a cup of tea and the 3rd is giving me a foot massage…and why is it wrong?
Number 5 loves to cook and dishes up the most delightful meals but he is not so good in the bedroom, where as number 7 is the best at sexually satisfying me but refuses to take out the trash and in fact…has a phobia about rain getting on his shoes…but number 3, thinks completely on another level altogether…
I need a handful of interesting men to make me feel like the princess that god says i am, so why is it wrong if they all serve a purpose and my heart loves each one of them in a different way?
Why do I have to do it in sin or against the word of God?
God said that men can have as many wives as they need…so why not women?
Women are allowed to work jobs that men usually do, now-days?
Women still have to pay money for everything!
Women are called names if not married and then we are still just a mans baggage or his trouble and strife…why are women being ripped off on this one…why haven’t the laws been changed in our favor on this level?
The only laws changed for us are that men are no longer allowed to rape us or bash us into doing what they say…we still have no right to the same laws that men have had since the beginning of time and every time we stand up and say that we want a slice of that yummy pie…they change the rules and say…sorry but that was yesterday and all you get is crumbs.
Women are still getting ripped off by men on every single level of life?
I’m too old to have more kids and already had five of them…most of my life now is just spent paying for a small box to dwell within and the basic things in life…
I never got a gold watch for raising them kids to adulthood…God never gave me a star for my sacrifices nor my long-suffering and now society says that my sexuality should be out of date and my only pastime become, “Knitting”…
Explain why religions are not doing their best to put a stop to the people who claim traditional cultures allow them to have several wives and why a Lady like me simply has no rite nor right, to marry the 7 men of my choice, this lifetime??
And moving to another country will not give me the right as my skin is white…so no rights here!!!
Thanx 4 the replies…G, um, gee, i never knew how inexperienced i was, until you told me so.
Spank me G…my sex machine won’t be finding any “Breaks due to exposure of friction”..? Or fiction..
Please G, will you be my friend & tell me how 2 entertain men? Will ya G…? Please???
Only one man has put his hand up so far and asked to be my husband… G,…are you God?… Gee God, I thought you knew me so well?
God laughed at me last night and sent me a handmaiden and/or, …a girlfriend of mine ripped of her shirt and walked around topless as she made my coffee “Don’t think I’m lesbian or nothing”, she said…I just told her “You have the tits of a 16 year old girl!”
…(((over 40 & God laughs with us all)))…
I’m doing well with my lifestyle choices!! = LOL!!!((She is married & American))

Ladybugs answers:

Why would 7 men want to be married to a single woman who is so burnt on how she thinks men are such unfair creatures toward her? I don’t even see why even one man would want to be married to such a selfish woman with a “victim men-tality” The best man for a woman like you would be one that was willing to put you over his knee and show you your place. You are no example for women’s rights. More like an apparent reason to reverse them. Its not all about sex, and if one man wouldn’t be enough for you, it is you, who lacks skill and imagination. How could 7 men, be entertained, by that? Oh, what they would want or need, just isn’t all that important to you, is it? The truth is a woman, even sexually, can only endure so much. Some men have found that a woman breaks after too much exposure to friction, and she just can’t take it anymore, at least not without good medical insurance and assistance . With such individual men, a second husband would be impossible to physically or mentally endure for a woman. You just simply don’t know enough about sex, and even more importantly life, yet.
Maybe this is why you can not find a individual man that can satisfy you? You have matured in virtually nothing enough, that would attract the kind of man that would be able to do so.

What do you pack on a 3 full day trip to Washington DC?

March 18
For a school trip, so we will be outside walking a lot. They said tennis shoes, but the only tennis shoes I have are my running shoes for cross country. I’m NOT wearing those. Would zip up boots – the kind that you wear over skinny jeans – work? And they said to bring to pairs of shoes because it will probably rain so I would be bringing my converse or ballet flats too. I have no idea what else to bring, though.
Teenage girl by the way!

Ladybugs answers:

If you have boots or shoes other than tennis shoes that are comfortable to do alot of walking in then that is better. DC is a place where you can’t be too dressed up, everything goes here, and you’ll look less like a tourist :)

Thats a good uhh… Question?

Mary asks…

what can i do to help these dogs?

I have these drugs dealing neighbors who live next door. They have one female pit bull who they breeded and she had 4 puppies.about 8 -9 months ago. They keep their dogs outside on the deck. to guard their weed, and these people only go out on the deck to feed them in the morning ,one pan of food. or to hose the deck down. they never pay any attention to them nor do they take them on walks..They are always yelling at the dogs, to get down!! when they try to jump on them for attention. I had reported them to the animal care and control, for keeping them without shelter in the hot sun last summer ,as they had no place for shade, and for them barking constanly. Last year the animal care people told me that they cited them for not lisencing them or being spayed.. Now the puppies are grown up .the mother dog stays with her 2 pups outside. they still have no shelter, during the rain and freezing cold. These neighbors have been reported for domestic violence, and because the dogs have tried to attack others including me.The animal care and control dept act like theres nothing they can do. I once seen a young teenage girl ,the one who was beaten up by her boy friend, hit one of the dogs in the face with a shoe, but the animal care wouldn’t do anything and they act like i’m just a bother. The neighbors deck is in my back yard and my bedroom window is very near to it. I’m awaken everyday with the dogs whinning and barking, growling etc. I asked the animal care and control if they have have followed up on the dogs getting spayed ,and they won’t tell me., they said if they didnt, spay the dogs , they will get a warrent? Now i see the 8-9 month old
male pitbull puppies humping on their mother, and i guess next spring she will be pregnant again with more pups for them to sell. but these will be her own off spring. I’m so disgusted with the whole problem ,that I have considered moving. Most of my neighbors have also complained..The animal care and control gave me a paper to have them sign. but my neighbors won’t sign it because their afraid. (Theres no Animal police in Santa Rosa ca.) It so Sad, how many animals suffer here..The police here suck too, they don’t do their jobs, I think alot of them are crooks.

Ladybugs answers:

You can’t get local authorites involved for the weed?

I’d call animal control every day until they finally do something. See if you can get the other neighbors involved…If you get enough people calling and complaining, then the animal control should take some sort of action. Especially if you tell them everything you said here; that there are 5 dogs sharing one dish of food, one time a day, no shelter, it doesn’t seem as if they’re getting water, and are being abused. And I’m sure they aren’t being vaccinated properly, or vetted. Also the animals are violent and are attacking people, and are just a general disturbance.
Try to get as many of your neighbors in on it as possible, and it should work. Worked in my neighborhood (but I also live in a much smaller town, so maybe thats why.. Idk.)

Hope it works for you.

Thomas asks…

How do you prepare your dog for extreme weather outside (rain, snow, high heat, very cold, etc.)?

Do you buy clothes and shoes and that kind of thing? Or do you have some kind of shelter structure similar to a carport? I am just curious, because I am training my dog outside, but my husband argues that during weather like this it will be difficult, so I am trying to figure out a game plan for when it occurs. I live in Oklahoma, so it can go from rainy-to sunny-to snowy here some days. I want to be prepared for Maxie’s sake as well as my own. He is a Maltese and so his fur isn’t very thick and they are prone to being weak to extreme weather. Thanks!
Yes, he is an indoor dog.
And I mean when you take the out to potty, not just taking them out in general. I wouldn’t make my dog go out in the rain or snow just for exercise. We can do that inside on those days.
I’m sorry, I didn’t proofread very well before I posted my question. I am training him to use the bathroom outside. He is primarily an indoor dog, and will never be living outside.

Ladybugs answers:

Yeah, I got my dog a sweater, he is half maltese. If it’s really cold, I put a small t-shirt on him, then a sweater on top. As you know, Maltese don’t do well in the cold.

You can also get him doggy boots. They are comfy and stretchy. My dog didn’t like them at first, he does now. It keeps the snow off their feet.

Your Questions About Rain Shoes Men

Jenny asks…

wat does 6 m mean in shoes online?

so i’m trying to buy some rain boots online and all the sizes are like 6 m, 7 m etc so do the shoes come in men sizes or does the m stand for medium?

Ladybugs answers:

Since W stands for wide, I would assume that M stands for medium :)

Donna asks…

“I wept because I had no shoes, until I saw a man who had no feet.”?

What is the value of this phrase?

I would seem to be saying that there is always someone worse off than you and therefore that you should get over it. That one should exercise self control – that having no shoes is not the worst thing that could happen. But while the value a healthy amount of self-control is not in question here the construction of the phrase seems to negate any beneficial effect it may have.

A man with no shoes must walk everywhere without protection for his feet. This means through all sorts of terrain and weather. It could be the middle of winter with freezing rain and cold sucking mud that could hide anything or the middle of summer with burning sand and baked hard razor sharp dirt. His feet may become infected from the injuries he sustains which could lead months to years of pain and suffering right through to septicemia, amputation and even possibly death.

A man who has no feet is not in need of shoes to protect them. While it is true that he cannot walk to the places that the man who has no shoes can, he also does not have the same danger that the man without shoes does. A man without feet but with shoes is gaining nothing by having them, a man with feet but without shoes is in danger of losing what he does have.

Also, can it not be argued that both men suffer equally? The one without feet must beg for lack of work, the one without shoes does work but must work with sore injured feet and also must live with the danger of losing what he does have.

So what in the end is the value of this phrase?

Ladybugs answers:

Of course all suffering is subjective. But I would say although the man without shoes can potentially lose his feet, it is not guaranteed that he will. There is a chance that he can earn enough money to afford them, be granted charity and someone who just hands him a pair, or make his own pair. The man without shoes has no reason to pity himself. Zen master Ch’eng-t’ien said, “Poverty at home is not yet poverty; poverty on the road saddens people to death.”

At least the man without shoes can direct himself down the path he chooses to follow.

Maria asks…

where can I buy yellow rain boots?

for men?

I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything even remotely close to what Im looking for.

Unfortunately my feet are too big to just buy a pair of womens shoes. Which I was honestly considering a moment ago.

Ladybugs answers:

Dude…I feel your pain. I’ve been looking quite literally everywhere online for yellow wellies. The closest I’ve come is the expensive (but totally worth it due to the quality) Hunter Originals. Unfortunately, I am a mens’s size 12 (and due to the rather snug fit in the calf of Hunters I have to take them in a 13), so I was limited to choices of black, navy, forest green and brown, or by going to zappos.com I managed to find merlot (burgundy) and red. I opted for the red so I could stand out in the crowd a little, but I was disappointed that I could not get my size in yellow. (Hunters are unisex size but the other colors they make, which include yellow, only run up to a mens’ size 9, which they market as a womens’ 10). I actually contacted a Hunter rep via email and was told that they don’t offer the other colors in larger sizes due to lack of demand. So if you can squeeze into a size 9 and are willing to drop 100 clams on rain boots, then go to zappos. Otherwise, you’re out of luck I’m afraid, unless you’d prefer those bulky yellow pvc overshoes that you see contstrucition workers & road crew guys wear – you can get those at Farm & Fleet for like 20 bucks.

Michael asks…

How can we remove the smell from clothes and shoes when they get wet in rain?

I generally observed that whenever I get drenched in rain the clothes and shoes get a kind of foul smell. What is the reason for this? only if the weather becomes sunny can we dry these things to take the smell out. What if the weather conitnues to be still cloudy and we need to dry these things. I especially have problem with my Jogging shoes which are not getting dry.

Ladybugs answers:

Iron them after washing and tumble drying.

Nancy asks…

Flat shoes for work during Seattle’s fall/winter?

I need some ideas for flat shoes for the fall and winter in Seattle. It’s 90% raining, 5% snowing, and 5% just wet and muddy. The dress attire at my work is business casual, so I can’t wear sneakers. I’ve been having problems with my feet and ankles swelling 24/7 so I can’t wear my beloved (and terribly missed!) heels. I need some cute, fashionable boots or other types of flats that will look good with all different kinds of nice tops and slacks: wide-leg, skinny, flared, boot cut. My pants are also a lot of different colors: charcoal gray, medium gray, black, dark brown, light brown, navy, khaki, etc.
And just an FYI, I love color too–especially in my shoes.

Any ideas would be appreciated, especially if you have links with pictures so I can see the style you’re talking about.

Your Questions About Rain Shoes For Kids

Thomas asks…

Have I done the right thing ending it with my girlfriend?

Im 35 with 3 kids from previous hetro relationship (long story) Ive been with my girlfriend whos 38 for almost 3 years,im her first GF and first proper relationship aswell (shes my third GF),When I met her she lived with her parents and always had.(her moms a big church goer say no more) although her father dont even know shes a lesbian and her mother dont exactly accept she moved in with me eventualy.
last year she bought an Alaskan Malamute pup and brought it to my home as it got a bit older it began distructing my house (while I spent money on new flooring and decorating),it ate my lino, chewed my kids shoes, chewed my door frames ,scrached my doors, spread mud everywhere, chewed even my window sill, dug up all my back garden so it turned into a mud pit,I kept getting stressed and urging her to rehome it she kept saying give the dog a chance it will grow out of it and promised to take it to a training class, which she never did. Most of the times she would stay up all night on the computer then have a lay in,in the morning, instead of walking it and wouldnt take it out if it was raining, shed just stick on her treadmill.
As i live in a housing association house they are now inspecting the houses and gardens and they will bill me if they see all the damage.
Then come the last straw it took a chunk out of my gas meter cupboard,as she was going down her mothers for a few days anyway I said dont ever bring that dog here again.
Then she kept on sending me texts saying im seeing someone else (after I said a friend asked me to go to the cinema) and for me to prove I love her then shel rehome the dog.She kept on and on saying things like “who is she then?”(as in im having a non existent affair)
So I just said ive had enough its over.was i right doing that?
I mean im only doing what i think is right putting my home and my childrens home first.
Yes i love her and she loves me,but i do feel im drifting from her cos the way shes acting right now.
?wolfy?
What the heck are you talking about you cannot compare “children” to “dogs” thats just darn stupid!!
I gave birth to my children my children are going to one day give me grandchildren,a dog isnt going to do it.
Her dog was taken from its mother when it was a puppy, its a pet not her child with her own blood and part of her.
Dont get me wrong dogs are lovely but they do not come first.
and besides when my girlfriend is speaking to her dog in both english and WELSH (I cant speak welsh) how the heck am im supossed to help in training it? its not going to listen to me and never did anyway.
also when she met me she knew I had kids so I can say “love me love my kids
her dog came 2 years after we met so she cant say “love me love my dog” as she didnt have a dog when we met.
This is also for all the dog lovers reading, please note A malamute as you know is a big dog, very energetic easily bored and stubbon to train,my back garden is small not big enough for a poodle,my house is also small for a dog of that size and also my GF has got boxes everywhere and clutter as she kept buying things and also had a dream to start her own t shirt business which I let her have the small bedroom to do it in putting my own son to have a bedroom in the dining room downstairs and my other two sons in one bedroom upstairs while me and her shared the middle bedroom upstairs. So you can guess I feel pretty clausterphobic,I even have a treadmill in my living room. She even said that if she rents a “unit” to run a business in shel take the dog with her and put it in a crate while she works in the unit. She also keeps saying she has fibromialgia which is supossed to be a crippling condition so why she chose a Malamute of all breeds with her having that condition is beyond me.

Ladybugs answers:

It was over when her dog ate the woodwork and she refused to either make restitution for it or take the dog to training classes. She’s not a very responsible pet owner and she doesn’t sound incredibly mature either if she assumes you’re having an affair because someone asked you to go to a movie.

Maria asks…

I am getting an inflatable moonwalk for my kid’s birthday party. What footwear is best if it rains?

My son’s party is in a few days but it looks like it may rain on his birthday. I rented an inflatable moonwalk for him and all of of his friends. Normally the kids bounce around in these in socks, so no one gets a sneaker kick to the head. If it rains that day, should I make everyone keep their shoes on instead? Make them go barefoot? It seems socks would get wet in the yard. What do other parents do for safety?

Ladybugs answers:

Barefoot would be best.

Socks will get dirty and wet. Shoes can hurt others (kick in the head) and the moonwalk. If it is just light rain, jumping is not a problem.

Kids love going barefoot in these things anyway. You should not get any resistance if you make going barefoot the rule.

Sandy asks…

If your ex is not providing things like jackets and shoes for your children when it’s raining….?

and you will now be purchasing all necessary clothing items for the children to give to him for his visitation so that the children will be warm, etc… Should you send him a letter before hand to tell him that you don’t agree with what he is doing and for possible documentation for court?
Or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?
The problem is that it angers me when my kids are coming home in flip flops and tshirts in the rain and he should be held accountable for his actions.

I am sending everything because I care about the kids, and they should have what they need no matter where they are. It’s not about my ex, I just don’t know if I should or shouldn’t document it for court later on.
I also recently asked him to pay child support, but he says he can’t afford it.

Ladybugs answers:

Don’t know what state you live in–but get an lawyer–file for child support–in our state doesn’t matter if you even have a job–they will still order you to pay child support–they are his responsibility too, so he needs to pay child support–the court will decide how much he will pay based on his salary–and if he doesn’t pay, they will take it out of his checks

Your Questions About Rain Shoes Cover

Helen asks…

Are these shoes good for running?

Hey, I’m just starting to run in training for boot camp. The longest I’ve been able to do is 1.7 Miles so far, and that’s not consistent. Everyone tells me I need a new pair of running shoes though, the pair I have was $10 at Wal*Mart and apparently they aint good.

I’ve been looking over running shoes, and I kind of like these:

http://www.endless.com/Teva-Wraptor-Stability-eVent-Runner/dp/B0017KNFJ0/ref=sr_1_30r/?cAsin=B0017KLJVQ&asinTitle=Teva%20Wraptor%20Stability%20eVent%20Trail%20Runner&&colors=&size=40&page=10&dept=242061011&node=242061011&nodes=242061011&brands=&keywords=&sort=price&&showDesigner=2&secondaryBrands=&sizes=&widths=&page=10&fromPage=search&contextTitle=&qid=1221590589111&sr=1-30&prepickColor=&asins=B0017W7KQ2,B001AMRH8K,B0015RZROG,B0015Q5HL0,B0011MIJFY,B000YBGFRW,B000NK5A8E,B000V22KC8,B000RLKC32,B0013ANMJW,B000QYBBYE,B000VV54SG,B000TZT0G6,B000VWFIW2,B000VV56MA,B000W4HO8U,B0013ABZB4,B000W2Q8ES,B000ZI5W9Q,B0014DQM68,B00107QJ02,B00107W51Y,B00107CJZQ,B001AG27U4,B000VV34V0,B000TZT0E8,B0012VLAB4,B000VVAJIG,B000W4E7KI,B0017KLJVQ,B0012VOND6,B000ZI7LUY,B0012VLF0A,B0012VKRI6,B001B4UMM0,B001AG0KUS,B0012VL9YM,B0012VV0YQ,B001AG475C,B001AG0S1E

But I don’t really know what I’m looking for in a running shoe. I mostly run either on grass/cement, or on a treadmill at my gym.
The straps seem like they would make this shoe much more secure in fit, and also it covers the laces which have a habit of getting pretty frayed and nasty when running out doors/in rain.

Ladybugs answers:

Since you’ve said you really don’t know much about running shoes, it is a good idea to go to a specialty running store. The staff there are knowledgeable and will advise you whats best for you. They check your weight, gait, form, foot type (flat, high arch, neutral) and if you under or over pronate. It may take up to an hour to try on shoes for the best fit and cost more than your $10 shoes at Walmart, but it really is best for injury prevention and comfort. You need the support for your ankles, knees and back. These running shoes are made for running. Running shoes found in Walmart are just general running shoes and does not have the quality or support that are found in good running shoes. Also laces are even a special design as well, they are flat or textured knit for anti slipping and has a tougher plastic ends for longer lasting and no fraying. They think of everything…

While those Teva Trail shoes are good shoes, they are designed for trails and has rock shield to protect your feet and grips on the sole for rougher terrain and a little bit stiffer and are usually slightly heavier. If your running on cement/asphalt, treadmill and grass, these shoes would not be good.

Good luck and happy running…:)

Susan asks…

Ever been caught in the rain wearing Flip Flops?

It happened to me yesterday during a really bad thunderstorm. There was like 5 inches of water on the ground, so my feet were completely covered when I was running to my car. It actually felt good though and I was glad I had flip flops on instead of regular shoes.

Sunday I went to take my dog outside to go potty and we were out there for about 5 mins and he had not gone yet, me if flip flops, it started to sprinkle…. Then poor! I think my dog was laughing at me.

Jenny asks…

Weird dream involving shoes?

The other night, I had this dream that I’ve never had before. I was standing outside of this building. I’m not sure what the building was, but it seemed similar to the structure of the grocery store that I work in. I’m hanging out at a picnic table with a friend of mine her younger sister (we’re in our late 20s, the sister is in her early 20s). The sky becomes dark, starts to rain, and a tornado starts to form off in the horizon. I go inside to take cover. While going inside to the tornado “safe place,” I decide to get a drink of water. At the water fountain, an 11 year old girl that I work with (from another job I have in real life), comes up to me and says “Hey! You forgot your name tag.” My name tag happens to be the name tag I’m suppose to wear in choir rehearsals, which my friend conducts (this is also in real life). I tell her thanks, and she skips away.

By this time, word about the tornado is spreading around. I happen to see a co-worker in her grocery store uniform, but she doesn’t have her shoes on. I ask her where they’re at, and she mentions something about leaving them in the highest part of a bell tower (picturing the bell tower at that’s my college Alma Mater). She then disappears. I continue to walk in the building, and happen to glance out a large window. My friend and her sister are still at the picnic bench, hanging out, chatting, etc. However, my friend now has her shoes off because her feet got soaked, so she’s standing in her bare feet. She is also totally soaked and wind swept from the rain and strong winds. However, for some strange reason, despite the approaching tornado, I suddenly decide to start heading outside again to tell my friend of a shoe sale that I saw at the store, as I had noticed they had shoes in her size. Right around then, I woke up.

I’m not sure what brought this up, except that I did buy some new shoes recently. Any takers on this?
Nope, I wasn’t late for work. It woke me up at 4 a.m. and I thought it was so weird that I decided to write it down. Funny enough, I also realized that I was thirsty, so I had to make myself get up to get a glass of water.

Ladybugs answers:

I would say you were really jazzed about the deal you got on the shoes, and you wanted your friends to share in the deal. Andwhile you were sleeping you really had to go! Thus the pressure of the tornado.
