Lizzie asks…

Ideas for dress up party?

Hey, Im going to a dress up party and the theme is to dress as something that begins with either L or K (that first initials of the bday girls‘ name.) I’m closer to the “K” girl, so that would be preferbale, but either is fine.
At the moment there is lady gaga, ladybug, Special K (lol), a lesbian and Potassium (the chemical symbol being K).

If you had any other ideas I’d love to hear them, THANKS!!!

Mandy asks…

ideas for a combined boy/girl party for a 4 yr. old and 1yr. old?

My daughter is turning 1 on Nov. 11th and my son is turning 4 on Nov. 22. To save time/money, we were thinking of a combined party in the middle of the month. Right now while they are young we figure we can get away with combining. I would love some ideas please!! My 4 yr old is into mickey mouse clubhouse and my little girl –ladybugs. I’m open to any and all suggestions.

Ladybugs answers:

My suggestion is to design the party around your four year old.

Realistically your one year old will be excited about anything and won’t be able to differentiate it anyway.

Mark asks…

Help with decoration ideas for my daughter’s b-day party!?

am having my daughter a birthday party in less than 2 weeks. I need some decorating ideas. We are having her party in a church fellowship hall. There will be around 30 people there (most being grandparents and great-grandparents). I need help with some decorating ideas!
Her cake will be either white background or light purple background. It may have polka dots on it or it may not. I also want ladybugs on it. Black and red ladybugs. Something like this except lavender background and no green stripe. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbcake/4394165498/
What do you think?
Also, I want to get lavender table cloths and plates and napkins with red and black balloons. Should I do the opposite and get red and black plates and napkins, with lavendar balloons? These are the 3 colors I am sticking with. I think. Maybe I should change it to just red/black/and green? This is her dress she is going to wear: http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/kids/toddlergirls/dresses/PRD~607254/Youngland+Ladybug+Seersucker+Halter+Sundress.jsp
I really wanted to incorporate the purple, but maybe I shouldn’t.

Help!!!

Ladybugs answers:

First of all that dress is adorable! I think that a garden theme would be really cute, like flowers, ladybugs, butterflies, etc. The black spots on the ladybugs is of course fine but the only thing I would change about the cake is change the dots to another color, maybe purple! I agree with the other poster who said to minimize the black and use brighter colors.
For decorations you could even get a pinata, I’m sure your son and any other “big” kids there would love it. Here are some from Oriental Trading, but in my opinion the ladybug one is scary looking, haha I would go with the butterfly!

and then I would do streamers and balloons in girly pastel colors like pink, green and purple
