Your Questions About Ladybug Stuff

Susan asks…
How can I improve my story? Part 1?
I gazed out the sedan window and thought. My summer is finally going to be fun, and I’m finally going to have something to say to my best friend Kacy when I get back to school. I grinned. Every year she always had some adventure to tell me that made me laugh every time, and today was the day that I could tell her something too. Today was the day that I was going to go to Maine. “Drew,” called my mom, her voice made me jump. My mother smiled with her perfect teeth, and copper skin, that reminded me every day how pale I was. However, my mother always said that I wasn’t’t pale, I was ‘porcelain’, and that made me special, especially when you live in Austin Texas. “Yes?” I said finally, “what do you want for lunch, sweetie?” My mom calls me and my sister sweetie all the time, and sometimes it bothers me, and this was one of those times. “Mom, I’m 13, you don’t have to call me sweetie, okay? And I’m not hungry.” My mother frowned and twisted herself around to face my eight year old sister who was, at the time repeatedly kicking my seat. My mom gave her a questioning look and Jamie, my little sister, gave a very detailed list of what she wanted for lunch that day. “I want a small fry, a cheeseburger without pickles, or onions, and none of that gunky stuff… I want some ketchup on the side, and a medium sprite. Oh, and a chocolate chip cookie, but make sure it’s got plenty of chips this time!” she said with a lisp. I observed, Jamie was drawing a picture of a ladybug, and hadn’t’t noticed my mom’s glare until she gave an “Ahem,” this time Jamie looked up from her poorly drawn picture and gave her impression of mom’s questioning look. I couldn’t’t help but giggle at my sister’s little attitude. “What do you say?” said my mom finally, giving up the battle of guess why I look mad at you! “Uh, please…” muttered Jamie, clearly irritated. I sighed, I was never like that when I was her age. Or was I? More so, mom never allowed an attitude like that from me when I as her age. But, strangely Jamie did remind me of myself, she looked like me anyways. She had my auburn hair, and steel gaze. She was very opinionated, and “had a mind of her own” as my mom put it, just like me, however, after years of experience I had learned when, and when not to use it. Eventually, I continued my train of thought from earlier, and pondered how lucky I was. You see, my mother and father are both nurses, and they never like to go on vacations from work. That’s why it’s so incredibly surprising when I heard just last week that we had rented a vacation cabin in Maine by a lake. I was assured by my cousins that I would have so much fun there. They actually spent like twenty minutes just talking about the canoeing! But I didn’t need assurance; I had already envisioned just how much fun I’d have ever since I’d heard the good news last week. That’s the reason why I continued to bite my nails and reposition myself every two minutes.

Ladybugs answers:
The first thing you need is paragraphs. If your writing is gonna be in this big chunk of writing readerss are often going to get bored.
Secondly you need to put dialogue on a new line.
Other than that your story is pretty awesome, something i would pick up and read.

Costmue Ideas??? Teen girls!!!?
Well, me and my friend want to go trick or treating together, but we can’t afford any cotumes. So, we want some good ideas for costumes you can assemble at home. Like something cute, but hot. Not slutty or too suggestive. We’re in our teens, so no baby stuff!!! I’ve asked this question on Yahoo a couple times before, but I’ve got pretty stupid answers. Like “Be a ladybug!!! Or a bumblebee!!!” Take a few minuets to answer my question, please. Oh, and there’ll be guys seeing us, too!!! So, that makes it all the more important!!!

i.e. I want to take pictures that can capture a lot of detail.
^^ What cameras would you suggest I take?
[*]Please note, I’m only 14 so i can’t use something very advance. I’m also doing Photography at school next year so I’d need a nice camera and that is affordable!
Thanks
