Maria asks…
Why most video games and many movies have so much violence?
I don’t understand why most video games are all about killing.Even those that are oriented to children contain violence even if it is demonstrated in a “cute” and “colorful” way (for example a little pink dragon smashes a “crazy ladybug” with his big foot). Also, what’s the point in watching a horror film where people are brutally killed and there’s so much blood? What does that sort of film offer to a person apart from a sense of anxiety and fear? Do we even need to have such feelings? Why do we have “horror films” and we don’t have films about peace, happiness, love etc. with the exception of a relatively few number of such films?
In the end, do you think all these reflect society and the level of its progress in a way or do you think I am exaggerating? Thanks!
Yes, but why do these kind of games and films sell? Why is a video game that portrays love, happiness or whatever boring, as Jigsaw said, and the one that contains so much violence exciting and interesting? Are we able to be interested only with something that its reality is inhumane? If so, why?
Ok, Jigsaw. I understand that this kind of video games excite you and keeps your interest. However, it doesn’t have the same effect on me and what I try to understand is why something negative even if it is fake fills people with excitement. If you’d like to continue this discussion you can e-mail me. Thank you for your interest.

Ladybugs answers:
Ok, you go play a video game about being a peace and love hippy and see how well it sells and how fun it is. And that is just the kind of typical non-horror movie fan comment I’d expect from a hippy. Horror movies (the scary ones) give you a jolt of adrenaline when something really scary happens. Since theres very few of those that do that I watch them because they are funny. There is nothing funnier to me than watching an actor completely overdo his death scene. It’s not morbid, just comical. You are exaggerating, quit being a hippy.
EDIT: Damn you hippies don’t get it. Love, peace and all that other hippy bullshit is mundane and uninteresting. Violence (fake violence anyway) is interesting and hilarious if pulled off wrong. Damn hippies.
Second EDIT (it’s a comparison): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TEg32t30yA > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyr50FxaBn4
The first is more interesting and gets you to continue the game to find out what the fuck that was all about. The second induces gagging.
EDIT: I did send an e-mail and my e-mail is on my profile if you would like to send a reply. Last edit here since my post is starting to get too fucking long. Just send it whenever and I’ll mail you back whenever you I see it.
